In this article, we walk through the steps you need to take to set up Channel Locks on your C Spire Set Top Box (STB).

C Spire’s Parental Control system provides you with the ability to lock down whole channels and require a viewer to enter in a Parental Control PIN before viewing. By enabling these controls, you can prevent your kids from watching TV or Movie Channels that contain content you find offensive or inappropriate. You’re in control.

Setting up Parental Control Channel Locks is easy. Follow these steps to set up Channel Locks on your Set Top Box:

1. Using your C Spire Remote Control, navigate using the following buttons: MENU > SETTINGS > PARENTAL > Edit Locked
2. You will be prompted to enter in your Parental Control ‘Ratings PIN.’ Enter your PIN and click OK. (Learn how to set up your pin.)
3. Then use the Up and Down to highlight the channel you wish to lock.
4. Once you’ve reached the channel you want to lock, hit SELECT on your remote. A green checkbox indicates a currently locked channel.

Once a channel has been added, anyone who tries to watch that channel will need to enter the Parental Controls PIN to view.
